Position Available: Wildlife Habitat Restoration Specialist

Domtar is seeking a Wildlife Habitat Restoration Specialist to join our team in South Carolina. In this role, you will be responsible for promoting the preservation and restoration of natural habitats while supporting our commitment to environmental sustainability.

Job Description

Assess, plan, and implement wildlife habitat restoration projects.
Collaborate with government agencies, conservation organizations, and local communities to develop and execute initiatives focused on enhancing wildlife habitats.
Conduct research on local animal species and their habitats to provide valuable insights for restoration efforts.
Work closely with internal teams, including forestry and environmental departments, to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
Engage in educational outreach programs to raise awareness about wildlife habitat conservation and encourage community involvement.
Monitor and evaluate the success of restoration projects, making necessary adjustments to maximize the effectiveness of our efforts.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related field.
Experience in wildlife habitat restoration projects and knowledge of native species in South Carolina.
Strong understanding of environmental regulations and best practices in habitat conservation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a collaborative and friendly approach.
Passion for sustainability and a genuine interest in the Pets/Animals field.
Willingness to travel within the region as required.
