Position: Conservation Specialist
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and evaluate historical artifacts and documents
- Develop and implement conservation strategies
- Perform advanced conservation treatments
- Conduct research and investigations on preservation techniques
- Collaborate with curators and archivists to ensure proper handling and storage of artifacts
- Monitor and maintain environmental conditions to prevent damage
- Train and educate staff on artifact handling and preservation best practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Environmental Science, Geology, Chemistry)
- Proven experience in artifact conservation
- Strong knowledge of preservation techniques
- Familiarity with documentation and cataloging of artifacts
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
