Position: Cultural Heritage Preservation Specialist
We are seeking a driven and passionate individual to join our team as a Cultural Heritage Preservation Specialist. As a crucial member of our organization, you will contribute to the preservation and promotion of Appenzell Ausserrhoden's unique cultural heritage.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct extensive research on Appenzell Ausserrhoden's cultural heritage, including historical buildings, artifacts, traditions, and cultural practices.
- Develop and implement comprehensive preservation plans and strategies, ensuring the long-term sustainability of cultural assets.
- Evaluate the condition of historical landmarks and cultural artifacts, identifying preservation needs and recommending appropriate conservation techniques.
- Create detailed documentation and records of cultural artifacts, ensuring accurate cataloging and data preservation.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, including universities, government agencies, and local communities, to enhance cultural heritage preservation efforts.
- Organize and curate exhibitions, educational programs, and events to promote awareness and appreciation of Appenzell Ausserrhoden's cultural heritage.
- Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in heritage conservation fields.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in History, Archaeology, Conservation Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in heritage conservation, preservation, or cultural resource management.
- Strong research and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of preservation techniques, best practices, and international standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English and German.
