Aosta Valley Regional Seismological Observatory invites talented and passionate individuals to apply for the position of Geophysical Research Specialist. As a member of our renowned organization dedicated to seismic research and analysis, you will have the chance to contribute to groundbreaking discoveries, support scientific investigations, and enhance understanding of seismic events in the Aosta Valley.



Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of seismic data, including recordings and measurements.
  • Research and interpret seismic patterns, focusing on understanding the geophysical characteristics of the Aosta Valley region.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to exchange knowledge and refine methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain databases containing seismic data, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for research purposes.
  • Contribute to the preparation of scientific publications and reports.


Requirements:

  • Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Geophysics, Geology, or a related field.
  • Strong background in seismic data analysis and research methodologies. Familiarity with seismographs and geophysical instruments is a plus.
  • Experience in geophysical modeling and/or data visualization techniques.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or MATLAB for data analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in Italian is highly desirable.
