Kymenlaakso Society for Wildlife Conservation is seeking qualified individuals for an exciting opportunity to contribute to wildlife conservation in Finland. We are a dynamic and innovative organization dedicated to protecting and preserving our wildlife heritage.
About the Position: Conservation Officer
We are currently hiring for the role of Conservation Officer, someone who will play a pivotal part in ensuring the compliance and enforcement of wildlife conservation laws and regulations. As a Conservation Officer, you will support our mission by implementing legal measures to safeguard wildlife populations and their habitats throughout the Kymenlaakso region.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and investigate potential violations of wildlife protection laws.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to develop strategies for wildlife protection.
- Conduct inspections and assessments of wildlife habitats to identify potential risks or infringements.
- Provide guidance and support to organizations and individuals involved in legal activities related to wildlife conservation.
- Develop and implement educational programs to raise awareness about wildlife conservation legislation.
- Prepare reports and maintain accurate documentation related to enforcement actions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Law or a related field.
- Experience in environmental or wildlife conservation work, preferably within a legal context.
- Sound knowledge of relevant wildlife conservation laws and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
