At Louisville Metro Parks and Recreation, we are dedicated to creating a sustainable and vibrant community. We believe in making a positive impact on the environment and are committed to being responsible stewards of our natural resources.
We are currently seeking a motivated and passionate individual to join our team as an Environmental Stewardship Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for promoting and implementing eco-friendly initiatives across our park system.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute environmental conservation programs and projects.
- Work closely with community organizations and stakeholders to foster environmental awareness and education.
- Implement strategies to reduce energy consumption and promote renewable energy sources in park facilities.
- Create and manage recycling and waste reduction programs.
- Assess and monitor the environmental impact of park operations.
- Collaborate with park staff to integrate sustainable practices into daily operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in environmental management or sustainability.
- Strong knowledge of local and national environmental regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for environmental conservation and sustainability.
