Preston County Schools, located in the beautiful West Virginia countryside, is seeking a qualified candidate to join our forward-thinking team as an Innovation & Sustainability Specialist. This position presents a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and advancement of innovative practices and sustainable solutions within the education sector.

Responsibilities:

Research, analyze, and stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and advancements in energy management, environmental practices, and sustainability initiatives.
Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and staff to develop and implement innovative programs and strategies that promote energy efficiency, environmental awareness, and sustainable practices throughout the school district.
Conduct energy audits, assess current practices, and identify areas for improvement to reduce energy consumption and waste.
Design and deliver training workshops and professional development sessions to educate staff and students on energy conservation, recycling, and other sustainability practices.
Manage and maintain data related to energy usage, cost savings, and environmental impact to support the district's sustainability goals.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Environmental Science, Engineering, or Sustainability.
Prior experience in energy management, environmental conservation, or sustainability programs preferred.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify opportunities for improvement.
Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively engage and educate staff and students.
Passion for sustainability, environmental stewardship, and a desire to make a positive impact within the education sector.
