Position: Wildlife Healthcare Specialist

About the Role:

Are you passionate about animal welfare and inspired by the wonders of nature? As a Wildlife Healthcare Specialist at Piedmont Wildlife Center, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care and medical support to wildlife in need. This is a challenging position that requires expertise in healthcare and a deep understanding of wildlife conservation practices.

Responsibilities:

Evaluate and treat injured and orphaned wildlife
Perform necessary medical procedures, surgeries, and post-operative care
Administer medications, immunizations, and monitor response to treatment
Collaborate with wildlife rehabilitators and veterinarians to develop effective care plans
Maintain medical records and compile accurate data for research purposes
Conduct educational sessions for volunteers and the public on wildlife healthcare

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field (Biology, Ecology, Zoology, etc.)
Experience in wildlife rehabilitation or related animal care
Proven knowledge of wildlife healthcare standards and practices
Excellent observation and diagnostic skills
Ability to work independently and make critical decisions under pressure
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
A genuine passion for wildlife conservation and environmental stewardship
