Role Overview:

As a Research Scientist - Crop Innovation, you will be part of our cutting-edge research team aimed at developing sustainable agricultural practices, enhancing crop productivity, and addressing food security challenges in the Northern Cape region.

Responsibilities:

Conduct experiments and research studies to improve crop varieties, disease resistance, and yield optimization.
Collaborate with local farmers, agricultural organizations, and government agencies to align research goals with regional needs.
Develop and implement innovative farming practices, biocontrol strategies, and precision agriculture techniques.
Analyze and interpret research data to identify trends, correlations, and potential breakthroughs.
Publish research findings in scientific journals, present at conferences, and contribute to grant proposals.

Qualifications and Skills:

Ph.D (or in the final stages of completion) in Agricultural Sciences, Plant Breeding, Crop Science, or a related field.
Demonstrated expertise in agronomy, crop improvement, or agricultural research.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistical software.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Publication record in reputable scientific journals is preferred.
