Position: Heritage Aviation Specialist
We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Heritage Aviation Specialist to join our team. The role will involve leveraging your aviation expertise to enhance our visitors' understanding and appreciation of Scotland's heritage.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize your aviation background to deliver informative and engaging presentations on aviation history and its connection to Scotland's heritage
- Curate and maintain aviation-themed exhibitions at our sites, highlighting their historical significance
- Collaborate with other teams to develop interactive displays and activities, integrating aviation elements for an immersive visitor experience
- Conduct research to uncover aviation-related stories and artifacts within Scotland's heritage, contributing to our collection and knowledge base
- Assist in the restoration and preservation of aviation-related structures and equipment
- Organize aviation-themed events, lectures, and workshops for visitors of all ages
- Work closely with local aviation communities, organizations, and experts to develop partnerships and exchange knowledge
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to aviation artifacts, exhibitions, and events
Requirements:
- A background in aviation or aerospace, with comprehensive knowledge of aviation history, technology, and cultural impact
- Strong communication skills to effectively present complex topics to diverse audiences
- Experience in curating exhibitions or displays, preferably within a heritage context
- A keen eye for detail and understanding of preservation techniques for artifacts and historical structures
