Ipswich City Council, located in Queensland, Australia, is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our organization as a Security Operations Coordinator. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the safety and security of our community through strategic planning, coordination, and implementation of effective security measures.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive security strategy aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate security operations and provide guidance to a team of security professionals.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify vulnerabilities, ensuring appropriate measures are in place.
  • Implement and manage access control systems, CCTV installations, and other security technologies.
  • Develop and deliver security training programs for staff members.
  • Monitor and analyze security metrics to identify trends, address gaps, and enhance overall security performance.
  • Respond to security incidents, conduct investigations, and facilitate appropriate actions as required.
  • Evaluate, select, and manage external security vendors and contractors.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience in security management or a related field, preferably in military or law enforcement.
  • Strong knowledge of security operations and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build strong working relationships.
  • Proficient in the use of security technologies and software.
  • Relevant certifications in security management are highly desirable.
  • A valid driver's license.
