The World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) - Nairobi Metropolitan, Kenya

We are currently looking for a dynamic and innovative Business Development Manager to join our team in Nairobi. As a global leader in agroforestry research and development, ICRAF is dedicated to improving people's livelihoods and the environment by promoting sustainable land use practices.

Job Responsibilities:

Identify, develop, and manage strategic partnerships with local businesses and organizations.
Lead the design and implementation of innovative business models that promote sustainable agroforestry practices.
Research and analyze market trends to identify emerging opportunities for growth.
Create and maintain a strong network of contacts within the industry.
Develop and present business proposals to potential partners and investors.
Collaborate with internal teams to align business strategies with research and development initiatives.
Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and regulatory frameworks.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
Proven experience in business development, preferably in the agriculture sector.
Strong knowledge of franchise and chain operations and how they relate to sustainable land use.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and project management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of Swahili is a plus.
