About Us

The North Carolina Coastal Federation, a leading environmental organization, is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Environmental Education Specialist to join our Coastal Stewardship Team. We work diligently to protect and restore the coast of North Carolina, promoting a sustainable and vibrant environment.

Job Responsibilities

As an Environmental Education Specialist, you will play a vital role in educating visitors about the ecosystem, wildlife, and natural resources of the North Carolina coast. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and delivering engaging educational programs and workshops to diverse audiences, including students, tourists, and local communities.
  • Conducting guided nature walks and interpretive tours to help visitors understand the coastal environment.
  • Creating and maintaining educational materials, displays, and exhibits.
  • Providing information and answering questions about local environmental issues, conservation efforts, and recreational activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Education, or a related field.
  • Strong background in environmental education and interpretive techniques.
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
  • Experience working with diverse audiences and coordinating educational programs.
  • Knowledge of North Carolina coastal ecosystems, wildlife, and conservation issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to develop educational materials using multimedia tools.
