Position: Sustainable Agriculture Specialist

Job Description:

Research and develop sustainable agricultural methods applicable to the local environment.
Collaborate with local farmers to implement best practices that minimize environmental impact and promote eco-friendly techniques.
Assess existing agricultural practices for opportunities to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
Educate farmers on the benefits of eco-conscious farming techniques and provide guidance on their implementation.
Conduct workshops and training sessions to raise awareness about sustainable agriculture within the Baton Rouge area.

Key Responsibilities:

Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in sustainable agriculture.
Conduct field surveys and research to identify potential areas for improvement.
Collaborate with local government agencies, agricultural organizations, and community stakeholders to promote sustainable practices.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with farmers and other stakeholders in the agricultural industry.
Analyze data and provide recommendations for enhancing sustainable farming techniques and practices.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in sustainable agriculture or related field.
Deep understanding of environmental issues impacting agriculture and rural areas.
Strong knowledge of sustainable farming practices, technology, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team.
Passion for sustainability and a commitment to making a positive impact on the environment.
