Sustainable Agriculture Specialist

We are currently seeking a passionate and knowledgeable individual to join our team as a Sustainable Agriculture Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and managing sustainable agricultural projects within the region of Sicily. You will work closely with local farmers, agricultural organizations, and government bodies to drive initiatives that enhance agricultural productivity while preserving the environment.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

Identify opportunities for sustainable agricultural development in Sicily, considering the region's unique characteristics and resources
Collaborate with local stakeholders to promote and support sustainable farming practices
Advise farmers on best practices for maximizing crop yields, minimizing environmental impact, and optimizing resource utilization
Conduct research and implement innovative farming techniques to enhance productivity and sustainability
Organize and deliver training programs and workshops to educate farmers and agricultural professionals
Monitor and evaluate ongoing projects, providing regular progress reports to stakeholders

Qualifications and Skills:

Degree in Agricultural Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or related field
Proven experience in sustainable agriculture and rural development
Strong knowledge of local Sicilian agriculture, including crop types, farming techniques, and regional challenges
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in Italian and English
