Seattle Art Museum, one of the leading cultural institutions in Washington State, is looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Flexibility-oriented Logistics Specialist.

About the Role:

As a Flexibility-oriented Logistics Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of artworks and artifacts within and outside the museum. You will be responsible for:

Coordinating secure transportation of art pieces for exhibitions, loans, and acquisitions.
Preparing detailed transportation plans, including packaging, handling, and storage requirements.
Managing logistics for traveling exhibitions, including coordinating with external venues and overseeing the safe installation and de-installation of artworks.
Collaborating with curators, registrars, and conservation teams to ensure the proper handling and care of delicate or fragile artworks.
Maintaining accurate records of all transportation activities, including condition reports and insurance documentation.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Art History, Museum Studies, Supply Chain Management, etc.)
Prior experience in logistics or related fields with a strong focus on attention to detail and organizational skills.
Knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and best practices in the transportation of art objects.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
