Vermont Department of Health is a highly respected organization dedicated to safeguarding the environment and promoting public health. We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Professional Environmental Geologist to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive environmental assessments utilizing advanced geologic techniques and tools
- Analyze and interpret geologic data to assess potential environmental risks
- Develop strategies for managing environmental impact and implementing mitigation measures
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide professional guidance on environmental regulations and policies
- Prepare concise reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Extensive knowledge of geologic principles, techniques, and methodologies
- Proven track record of conducting successful environmental assessments and investigations
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
- Proficient in using GIS, remote sensing, and other geospatial analysis tools
- Experience working with state and federal environmental regulations is a plus
