Job Description

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in developing captivating content to promote the beauty, culture, and hidden gems of North Carolina. As a Content Development Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

Researching and sourcing engaging topics related to North Carolina's vibrant literary arts scene, historical landmarks, local festivals, and unique tourist attractions
Creating compelling articles, blog posts, and social media content that showcase North Carolina's appeal as a vacation destination
Collaborating closely with travel agencies, tourism boards, and local businesses to gather insights and stay up-to-date on the latest tourism trends
Crafting persuasive narratives that inspire both local and international travelers to explore different regions of North Carolina
Editing and proofreading content to maintain high standards of accuracy, clarity, and grammar
Utilizing SEO best practices to optimize content for improved online visibility
Managing editorial calendars, ensuring timely delivery of content, and coordinating with a team of writers and contributors

Qualifications

In order to excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

A passion for writing, storytelling, and exploring North Carolina's diverse offerings
Demonstrated experience in content creation, preferably in a travel-related field
Exceptional research skills with an ability to translate complex information into engaging content
Strong understanding of SEO and proficiency in using relevant tools to grow organic reach
Excellent editing and proofreading abilities with an eye for detail
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently
