Senior Regulatory Affairs Manager - Environmental Sustainability

The Permanent Representation of Greece to the European Union is searching for a dynamic and experienced Senior Regulatory Affairs Manager to join our team based in Brussels. In this role, you will be responsible for advocating and representing Greek interests in the area of environmental sustainability, focusing on matters concerning land use, rural development, and agri-environmental policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, analyze, and contribute to the development of EU legislation on environmental sustainability and agricultural policies.
  • Forge strong relationships with EU institutions, agencies, and relevant stakeholders to advocate for Greece's agricultural and rural development sector.
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategies to promote environmental sustainability in the agricultural sector, aligning with EU regulations and directives.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to Greek authorities and stakeholders on compliance with EU environmental and agricultural policies.
  • Participate in and represent Greece at EU working groups, committees, and meetings focused on agricultural and environmental policies.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the alignment of Greek policies with EU objectives and initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Agricultural Economics, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in regulatory affairs, policy advocacy, or a similar role within the environmental or agricultural sectors.
  • In-depth understanding of EU environmental and agricultural policies and their implications on rural development and sustainability.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining relationships with EU institutions, agencies, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to interpret and analyze complex legislation and provide strategic advice to government authorities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a strong command of English; knowledge of other EU languages is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate a complex regulatory landscape.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, and to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
