Position: Tourism Safety Specialist

Role Overview:

As a Tourism Safety Specialist at ACT Policing, you will play a vital role in protecting and ensuring the safety of tourists and vacationers visiting the beautiful ACT region. Working closely with local tourism stakeholders, you will contribute to maintaining a safe environment and enhancing the overall experience for visitors.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement strategies to enhance tourist safety across the ACT
Collaborate with local tourism organizations and agencies to identify potential safety concerns and develop appropriate solutions
Conduct assessments of popular tourist sites and recommend security measures
Lead educational campaigns to promote responsible tourism practices
Provide safety training and guidance to hospitality and tourism industry professionals

Requirements:

Experience in the tourism or hospitality industry, with a strong understanding of the unique challenges faced in providing a safe environment for visitors
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage and collaborate with various stakeholders
Proven ability to assess risks and implement effective safety measures
Knowledge of local attractions and the tourism landscape in the ACT
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Relevant certifications or qualifications in safety or tourism management are desirable
