Position: Creative Heritage Curator

Location: Northern Cape, South Africa

Overview: Namaqualand Tourism Association is seeking a Creative Heritage Curator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep appreciation for art, design, and cultural heritage, with a passion for preserving and promoting Namaqualand's unique artistic expressions.

Responsibilities:

Curate and manage exhibitions, installations, and artistic displays reflecting Namaqualand's heritage and contemporary art scene
Collaborate with local artists, artisans, and cultural practitioners to showcase and promote their work
Develop and implement strategies to engage the community in artistic and cultural initiatives
Conduct research on Namaqualand's cultural heritage and artistic traditions
Contribute to the development of cultural tourism experiences and promotional materials

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Art History, Cultural Studies, or related field
Demonstrated experience in curating exhibitions or managing artistic programs
Strong understanding of Namaqualand's cultural heritage and art scene
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and community members
