Job Opportunity: Compliance Specialist

Are you passionate about ensuring legal compliance within the fishing sector? We are currently looking for a dedicated Compliance Specialist to support our operations and help us maintain adherence to relevant laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough reviews of current policies and procedures to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance.
Develop and implement compliance training programs for staff to enhance their understanding of legal requirements.
Monitor changes in relevant legislation and provide guidance to the organization to ensure ongoing compliance.
Collaborate with different departments to develop and update internal policies to align with external requirements.
Prepare and submit legal documentation, permits, and reports as required.
Work with external legal advisors to obtain expert advice on complex compliance issues, when necessary.
Respond to compliance-related inquiries and provide guidance to internal stakeholders.

Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Environmental Law, Resource Management, Sustainability).
Proven experience in a compliance-related role within the fishing or environmental sector.
Sound knowledge of national and international fisheries laws and regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy in compliance documentation.
Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish.
