Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and culturally sensitive individual to join our team as a Cultural Engagement Coordinator. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of innovative strategies that celebrate and showcase the diversity of Kenyan culture.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute engaging cultural events and exhibitions that resonate with diverse audiences.
Collaborate with local artists, performers, and community members to curate culturally authentic experiences.
Create and maintain relationships with media partners to promote museum initiatives.
Utilize social media platforms creatively to increase awareness and engagement with our exhibitions and events.
Coordinate educational programs and workshops that highlight Kenya's cultural heritage.
Facilitate partnerships with schools and universities to facilitate educational collaborations.
Conduct outreach activities to attract visitors and enhance the museum's visibility across diverse communities.
Stay updated on current cultural and entertainment trends to incorporate relevant elements into museum programs.
Ensure effective communication of the museum's mission and values to visitors and stakeholders.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in African Studies, Cultural Studies, Anthropology, or related field.
Prior experience in event coordination or cultural programming.
In-depth knowledge of Kenya's cultural landscape and diverse communities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and project management abilities.
Proficiency in social media platforms.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural team.
Passion for cultural preservation and promoting diversity.
