Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and culturally sensitive individual to join our team as a Cultural Engagement Coordinator. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of innovative strategies that celebrate and showcase the diversity of Kenyan culture.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute engaging cultural events and exhibitions that resonate with diverse audiences.
  • Collaborate with local artists, performers, and community members to curate culturally authentic experiences.
  • Create and maintain relationships with media partners to promote museum initiatives.
  • Utilize social media platforms creatively to increase awareness and engagement with our exhibitions and events.
  • Coordinate educational programs and workshops that highlight Kenya's cultural heritage.
  • Facilitate partnerships with schools and universities to facilitate educational collaborations.
  • Conduct outreach activities to attract visitors and enhance the museum's visibility across diverse communities.
  • Stay updated on current cultural and entertainment trends to incorporate relevant elements into museum programs.
  • Ensure effective communication of the museum's mission and values to visitors and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in African Studies, Cultural Studies, Anthropology, or related field.
  • Prior experience in event coordination or cultural programming.
  • In-depth knowledge of Kenya's cultural landscape and diverse communities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural team.
  • Passion for cultural preservation and promoting diversity.
