About Nakuru Youth Sports Academy
Nakuru Youth Sports Academy is a leading organization dedicated to promoting the well-being and conservation of animals in Nakuru, Kenya. Our state-of-the-art facility houses and rehabilitates wildlife, helping them recover from injuries or distress and preparing them for eventual reintroduction to their natural habitats.
Role and Responsibilities
- Work closely with our wildlife experts to develop and implement care programs for our diverse range of animals, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
- Monitor and assess animal behavior, identifying any signs of distress or health issues.
- Administer medical treatments, including medications and vaccinations, as necessary.
- Assist in the development of enrichment activities to promote animal mental stimulation and natural behaviors.
- Conduct research and gather data to contribute to conservation initiatives.
- Collaborate with the outreach team to provide educational programs and engage with the local community, raising awareness about wildlife conservation efforts and promoting responsible pet ownership.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A degree in Wildlife Management, Zoology, Veterinary Science, or related field.
- Proven experience in wildlife conservation and animal care.
- Strong knowledge of local and international regulations concerning wildlife management and conservation.
- Excellent observational and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Familiarity with the use of advanced technologies in animal care and conservation.
