Bloem Water in Free State, South Africa is seeking a passionate and dedicated Wildlife Care Specialist to join our team. As a Wildlife Care Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the care and well-being of a diverse range of animal species while contributing to our conservation and rehabilitation efforts. This role presents a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on South Africa's wildlife ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized care for a variety of wildlife species
- Develop and implement enrichment programs to support animal welfare
- Conduct health assessments and administer treatments as necessary
- Coordinate with veterinarians for medical care and support
- Ensure habitats are conducive to the animals' natural behaviors and needs
- Contribute to conservation and educational initiatives
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Zoology, Wildlife Management, or related field
- Proven experience in caring for and handling wildlife
- Strong understanding of animal behavior, nutrition, and healthcare
- Excellent observation and communication skills
- Passion for wildlife conservation and environmental stewardship
- Ability to work well within a team and independently
- Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
