Kanton Schaffhausen - Amt für Städtebau is seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Vacation Experience Specialist (VES). Position overview:
As a Vacation Experience Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and optimizing tourists' experiences within the Schaffhausen region. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual with a strong dedication to showcasing our beautiful surroundings, history, and culture to visitors from all over the world.
Responsibilities:
- Destination knowledge: Deeply understand the Schaffhausen region, its landmarks, attractions, and tourism infrastructure to provide accurate and detailed information to tourists.
- Guest interaction: Assist visitors by providing guidance, answering inquiries, and addressing concerns with the utmost professionalism and hospitality.
- Tour planning: Collaborate with various local tourism partners to create well-rounded travel itineraries tailored to different visitor preferences, ensuring an unforgettable vacation experience.
- Travel resources: Curate and maintain a comprehensive database of reliable travel resources, including local guides, maps, brochures, and websites.
- Event coordination: Contribute to the planning and execution of tourism-related events, such as festivals, conferences, and workshops.
- Promotion and marketing: Support the development and implementation of marketing strategies to attract tourists and enhance the region's visibility globally.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar role within the tourism or hospitality industry.
- Language skills: Fluent in English and at least one additional language (German, French, Italian, or Spanish).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information effectively and engage with diverse audiences.
- Interpersonal skills: Strong interpersonal skills and a natural ability to connect with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
- Organization: Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work on weekends, evenings, and public holidays as required.
