As an Archival Research Specialist, you will play a crucial role in preserving and providing access to Rhode Island's historical records for research and educational purposes. Responsibilities:

Conduct in-depth research and analysis of archival materials to support historical inquiries and genealogical investigations
Develop comprehensive research strategies and methodologies to enhance the accessibility and retrieval of archival records
Identify and catalog relevant primary and secondary sources, ensuring accurate and consistent documentation
Collaborate with other team members to assist researchers and provide guidance on navigating the archival collection
Maintain detailed records of research methods, findings, and recommendations for future reference

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in History, Library Science, or related field
Strong research skills and the ability to critically evaluate and interpret historical documents
Experience working in archival research or library science preferred
Proficiency in using archival databases, cataloging systems, and digital preservation tools
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting
