The Las Vegas Valley Water District is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Water and Environment Technician. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the well-being and safety of our community by focusing on the water quality and environmental aspects of our operations. While the position doesn't directly involve working with pets or animals, the skills and knowledge in this field are highly applicable to our industry.

Responsibilities:

Monitor and analyze water quality parameters to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
Perform routine water sampling, testing, and analysis following established protocols
Maintain and calibrate water testing equipment
Collect and analyze environmental samples, such as soil and vegetation
Assist in conducting environmental impact assessments
Contribute to the development and implementation of water quality improvement plans
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address environmental issues and develop sustainable solutions
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related field
Knowledge of water quality testing methodologies and equipment
Experience in environmental sampling and analysis
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent organizational and time management abilities
Proficient in using relevant software and tools
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
