Job Opening: Rural Development Specialist
Are you passionate about driving sustainable development in rural areas? Narok Green Energy is seeking a talented individual to join our dynamic team as a Rural Development Specialist. In this role, you will be instrumental in implementing innovative strategies to uplift the agricultural and rural sectors, working directly with local communities and key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute programs aimed at improving agricultural practices and rural infrastructure
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops for local farmers and community members
- Collaborate with external partners and organizations to drive sustainable rural development initiatives
- Analyze and assess the impact of development projects on local communities and the environment
- Provide support and guidance to agricultural extension officers and community leaders
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Economics, Rural Development, Environmental Science, or related field
- Proven experience in community development, project management, or related roles
- Strong understanding of agricultural practices, rural livelihoods, and sustainable development principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluency in local languages and cultural understanding of the Narok region (an advantage)
- Passion for environmental conservation and driving positive change in rural communities
