We are excited to announce an opening for the position of Community Wellness Liaison at the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence. As a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering safety and support for individuals affected by domestic violence in our community, our mission is deeply intertwined with health, well-being, and social responsibility. This position offers a unique opportunity to combine your passion for promoting wellness with a commitment to making a positive impact on society.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with local health centers, community organizations, and advocacy groups to develop wellness programs that support survivors of domestic violence.
- Organize and lead community fitness events, workshops, and awareness campaigns focused on holistic well-being.
- Advocate for policies that promote mental and physical health within the context of domestic violence prevention.
- Provide resources and education on how sports and fitness can be utilized as tools for empowerment and healing.
- Support survivors in accessing sports and fitness opportunities as part of their journey towards recovery and self-empowerment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Public Health, Social Work, or Psychology.
- Previous experience in community outreach, wellness promotion, or related fields.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
- Knowledge of domestic violence issues and a commitment to social justice and equity.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and build strong community partnerships.
