Position: Rural Renewable Energy Specialist

Location: Western Highlands, Iceland

We are seeking a dedicated professional with expertise in harnessing the power of nature to drive sustainable energy practices. As a Rural Renewable Energy Specialist, you will play a vital role at the nexus of agriculture, rural development, and green energy. Collaborate with local farmers, community stakeholders, and our existing team to implement renewable energy solutions and foster sustainable practices in the region.

Responsibilities:

Identify optimal locations for sustainable energy infrastructure and development in rural areas
Engage with local agricultural communities to promote and implement renewable energy practices, such as geothermal systems for heating and greenhouse operations
Contribute to the creation of innovative partnerships with rural entities to advance energy efficiency and sustainable agricultural and rural development
Stay abreast of industry trends and standards, integrating the latest technological advancements into our rural energy initiatives
Manage and coordinate projects related to renewable energy in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
Demonstrated experience in rural development, agriculture, or related initiatives
Knowledge of renewable energy systems and the ability to apply this knowledge in rural contexts
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
