Explore & Conserve Specialist
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team at Save the Children Sweden in Skåne län. As the Explore & Conserve Specialist, you will play a vital role in promoting sustainable practices and responsible tourism to conserve natural environments while providing transformative experiences for travelers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement eco-friendly travel itineraries that emphasize environmental conservation
- Collaborate with local communities to create authentic cultural experiences for visitors
- Educate tourists on sustainable travel practices and the importance of preserving natural resources
- Provide expertise on conservation initiatives and support local wildlife protection programs
- Establish partnerships with businesses and external organizations to foster sustainable tourism
- Initiate and lead environmentally focused excursions and activities
- Conduct research to identify opportunities for ecological improvement within the tourism industry
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainable Tourism, or related field
- Proven experience in sustainable tourism, environmental conservation, or related areas
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for environmental stewardship and community engagement
- Proficiency in Swedish and English; additional languages are an advantage
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours
