Inclusive Community Liaison Officer
We are seeking a passionate individual to join our Advocacy Program at the KZN Blind and Deaf Society in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. As an Inclusive Community Liaison Officer, you will play a vital role in promoting awareness and advocating for the rights of individuals with visual and auditory impairments.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain relationships with community stakeholders
- Organize events and campaigns to raise awareness and support for the advocacy program
- Collaborate with local businesses to create inclusive opportunities for the blind and deaf community
- Develop marketing strategies to promote the advocacy program
- Engage with individuals with disabilities to understand their needs and address challenges they face
Requirements:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for advocating inclusivity and equality for individuals with visual and auditory impairments
- Previous experience in community outreach or advocacy programs is an advantage
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently
- Knowledge of local resources and services for individuals with disabilities
