Community Wellness Specialist

The West Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Community Wellness Specialist. This role presents an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the health and well-being of our community members across West Virginia.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate and manage health and wellness programs aimed at improving the overall health of community members.
Develop and implement initiatives to promote healthy living, including nutrition education, physical fitness programs, and mental well-being support.
Collaborate with local healthcare providers, community organizations, and government agencies to ensure the success of wellness programs.
Evaluate the effectiveness of wellness initiatives and make recommendations for program enhancements.
Empower and educate individuals on preventive healthcare measures and lifestyle choices that contribute to a healthier community.
Provide support and guidance to community members seeking resources and information about health services and wellness opportunities.
Advocate for policies that promote community health and access to healthcare resources.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in public health, community health, health promotion, or related field.
Demonstrated experience in implementing health and wellness programs with measurable outcomes.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse community stakeholders.
Knowledge of healthcare resources, wellness principles, and public health best practices.
Passion for improving community health and well-being.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
