Myvatn Wildlife Photography is seeking a dedicated individual with a passion for preserving the natural world to join our team as a Wildlife Conservation Specialist. Based in the breathtaking Northeastern Region of Iceland, the role involves working closely with local communities, researchers, and government agencies to promote sustainable practices while capturing the beauty of our environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement initiatives to minimize our ecological footprint
  • Collaborate with local conservation organizations to protect native wildlife habitats
  • Conduct wildlife population surveys and behavioral studies
  • Assist in the creation of educational materials, raising awareness about environmental issues
  • Document and photograph regional flora and fauna in their natural habitats
  • Participate in environmental impact assessments for proposed projects
  • Engage in public outreach, inspiring others to appreciate and protect our natural environment

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, or related field
  • Proven experience in wildlife monitoring, conservation, or environmental advocacy
  • Strong photography and documentation skills, with a keen eye for capturing nature's beauty
  • Ability to work independently in challenging outdoor environments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of Icelandic is a plus
  • Commitment to ethical wildlife practices and environmental sustainability
