We are looking for a passionate individual to join our team as a Sustainable Community Development Specialist in beautiful Pohjois-Karjala, Finland. As a Sustainable Community Development Specialist, you will be responsible for creating and implementing strategies that support the growth and sustainability of rural communities. Your work will focus on leveraging agricultural and environmental resources to promote economic development, ecological balance, and community well-being.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in community development, environmental science, or a related field. You should be enthusiastic about engaging with local stakeholders, conducting research, and designing initiatives that address the unique needs of rural areas.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with local communities to identify opportunities for sustainable agricultural practices and rural development.
  • Develop and implement programs that support environmentally friendly farming methods and land use.
  • Evaluate the impact of agricultural activities on the environment and propose innovative solutions for improvement.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to educate community members on sustainable agriculture and rural development practices.
  • Work closely with academic partners and local organizations to foster a culture of knowledge exchange and continuous learning.
  • Contribute to grant writing and fundraising efforts to support ongoing sustainability projects.
