Position: Geospatial Data Analyst
As a Geospatial Data Analyst at LBEG, you will immerse yourself in a dynamic environment where you will work with a diverse team to analyze complex spatial data, contributing to the sustainable development of our natural resources and energy infrastructure here in Lower Saxony. You will play a pivotal role in utilizing geospatial data to support various initiatives, ensuring that our strategies are aligned with environmental conservation and safety regulations while enhancing public engagement with mining, energy, and geological activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct spatial analysis and modeling to identify potential sites for sustainable resource extraction
- Develop interactive geospatial visualizations to communicate complex data to diverse audiences
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate geospatial information into environmental impact assessments
- Contribute to the development of innovative strategies for land reclamation and natural resource management
- Stay abreast of emerging geospatial technologies and methodologies while implementing best practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geoinformatics, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field
- Proven experience in geospatial analysis and cartography using GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, etc.)
- Familiarity with spatial databases and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R, etc.)
- Passion for sustainable development and environmental stewardship
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
