We are the Sicilian Fishermen's Association, a pioneering force that has been at the forefront of sustainable fishing practices for over a century. We are currently seeking an individual with exceptional expertise in aquatic genetic research and breeding to join our esteemed team.
Job Title: Advanced Aquatic Geneticist
Location: Sicily, Italy
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on aquatic genetic traits to enhance the quality and resilience of our fish population
- Develop and implement advanced breeding strategies for various aquatic species
- Collaborate with our team to achieve genetic optimization goals
- Continuously evaluate and improve breeding practices to ensure sustainability and diversity within our aquatic ecosystems
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Genetics, Aquaculture, Marine Biology, or related field
- Demonstrated experience in genetic research with a focus on aquatic organisms
- Proven track record in developing and implementing innovative breeding programs
- Strong understanding of sustainable fishing practices and environmental conservation
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
