Basel-Landschaft Department of Education is seeking a passionate and dedicated Wildlife Care Specialist to join our team. As an organization committed to the well-being and preservation of our local wildlife, we are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic about animal care and welfare.
The ideal candidate will have a background in biology, veterinary studies, or a related field, and a deep understanding of wildlife behavior and habitats. As a Wildlife Care Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing care, enrichment, and rehabilitation to various species native to the Basel-Landschaft area.
Responsibilities:
- Providing daily care for wildlife, including feeding, grooming, and enrichment activities
- Assessing and monitoring the health and behavior of animals in our care
- Collaborating with veterinary staff to ensure the well-being of wildlife
- Developing and implementing environmental enrichment programs
- Participating in educational outreach events to raise awareness about local wildlife conservation
Requirements:
- A genuine passion for wildlife and animal welfare
- Experience in wildlife rehabilitation or related fields
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a dynamic team
- Flexibility in working hours to accommodate the needs of the animals
