Role Overview:

As a Craftsmanship Curator, you will be responsible for identifying, researching, and showcasing exquisite examples of craftsmanship across different historical periods and geographic regions. You will work closely with our collections to uncover stories of innovation, creativity, and technical skill, thereby enhancing the visitor experience and promoting a deeper understanding of the manufacturing heritage.

Key Responsibilities:

Research and identify exceptional examples of craftsmanship within the museum's collection and beyond.
Curate engaging exhibitions and displays that highlight the significance of craftsmanship in various industries.
Collaborate with academic and industry partners to further research and promote awareness of craftsmanship.
Contribute to educational programs and workshops that inspire the next generation of artisans and designers.
Conduct outreach and public engagement to foster appreciation for craftsmanship among diverse audiences.

Requirements:

A deep passion for and knowledge of craftsmanship, design, and manufacturing processes.
Experience in curatorial work, ideally within a cultural or museum setting.
Excellent research, communication, and organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to curate compelling exhibitions and interpretive materials.
An understanding of historical and contemporary contexts of craftsmanship.
Advanced degree in a relevant field is preferred.
