We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Environmental Conservation Specialist to join our dynamic team at Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen). As an integral part of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing and implementing environmental conservation initiatives that directly impact our agricultural and rural development projects in the Rift Valley.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement environmentally sustainable solutions for agricultural and rural development projects
Collaborate with local communities, government agencies, and partner organizations to ensure compliance with environmental regulations
Conduct research and provide expertise on best practices for environmental conservation in agricultural and rural settings
Monitor and evaluate the impact of our activities on the local ecosystem and propose corrective measures when necessary
Lead educational initiatives to promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices within the community

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Agriculture, Ecology, or related field
Proven experience in environmental conservation or related agricultural/rural development projects
Strong understanding of local ecosystems and their interaction with agricultural practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective community engagement
Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team to achieve common goals
