We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Health and Safety Coordinator. This role within the Free State Department of Education is crucial to ensuring a secure and healthy environment for all staff and students across the Free State region.
The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring health and safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and providing guidance to staff to minimize workplace hazards and promote a culture of safety awareness.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement health and safety procedures in accordance with regulatory standards
- Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments
- Provide training and support to staff on health and safety issues
- Investigate accidents and incidents, and implement preventive measures
- Stay updated with health and safety legislation and best practices
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote a safe working environment
