Position: Transport Solutions Specialist

Overview: Whakatāne District Council is committed to pioneering innovative solutions for our region's transportation needs. We are looking for a Transport Solutions Specialist to lead and develop cutting-edge strategies to enhance our logistical operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Devise and implement innovative transportation plans and policies to improve efficiency and sustainability
- Perform detailed analysis of current transportation systems and propose optimization strategies
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify practical and innovative solutions
- Conduct research on emerging transportation technologies and recommend suitable applications
- Monitor and evaluate transportation performance, identifying areas for improvement
- Provide expert guidance on transportation-related projects and initiatives
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to ensure the Council remains at the forefront of innovation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience
