Position: Corporate Governance Specialist

Location: British Columbia, Canada

Your Responsibilities:

Champion compliance, advising on legal matters related to corporate governance, policies, and regulations.
Contribute to the development and upkeep of a dynamic compliance framework aligned with industry standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure legal considerations are embedded in tactical and strategic decision-making processes.
Provide sound legal advice on matters of dispute resolution, risk mitigation, and contract negotiations.
Stay abreast of regulatory changes and proactively adapt the company's strategy to ensure ongoing compliance.
Participate in the creation and delivery of comprehensive training programs to enhance legal awareness across departments.
Engage in due diligence processes and audits to uphold legal and ethical standards.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to refine legal operational excellence.

Your Profile:

JD or equivalent legal qualification, along with active membership in a recognized bar association.
Demonstrable experience in corporate governance, compliance, and ethics within the mining or related industries.
Proven track record of analyzing and interpreting complex regulatory requirements.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate legal concepts to a broad audience.
Analytical and decisive nature with an unwavering commitment to integrity and ethics.
Solid understanding of environmental and natural resource regulations.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment whilst balancing multiple priorities.
Strong problem-solving capability and a strategic mindset.
