We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team at National Health Laboratory Service (NHLS) in Gauteng, South Africa.

Job Overview:
As an Environmental Sustainability Specialist at NHLS, you will be responsible for driving environmental initiatives across various agricultural and rural health projects. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, government agencies, and local communities to implement sustainable practices that support public health and agricultural development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to promote environmental sustainability within agricultural and rural health programs
- Collaborate with local farmers and communities to introduce sustainable farming practices
- Evaluate the impact of agricultural activities on the environment and propose solutions for improvement
- Conduct research on agricultural and rural health trends to identify opportunities for sustainable development
- Advise project teams on environmental regulations and best practices
- Monitor and report on the environmental performance of agricultural and rural health initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Agriculture, or related field
- Proven experience in environmental sustainability or rural development
- Strong understanding of agricultural practices and their impact on the environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Passionate about promoting sustainable agriculture and rural development
