Position Overview:

As a Research and Community Engagement Specialist, you will be responsible for spearheading community outreach initiatives and collaborating with agricultural and rural communities to foster partnerships in cancer research. You will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between agriculture and healthcare, advancing our mission of promoting health equity.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain relationships with agricultural and rural communities to promote cancer awareness and education
Coordinate and facilitate research projects focusing on the impact of environmental factors on cancer prevalence within rural populations
Educate and engage communities on preventive measures and early detection strategies
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to incorporate agricultural and rural perspectives into cancer research initiatives
Identify funding opportunities and grants to support community-based research and outreach

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as public health, environmental science, or a related discipline
Experience working in community engagement, public health outreach, or agricultural development
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for building relationships and fostering community partnerships
Ability to navigate the intersection of agricultural practices and healthcare with a keen interest in addressing health disparities in rural communities
Proven track record of project management and grant development
